Cincinnati moving FAQ
How is the flat price kept firm?
We base the figure on your actual belongings and how tough the access is, write it down, and hold to it. As long as the load lines up with what you told us, move day lands on the exact figure you signed, with no rounding up.
Are the movers Redlegs staff or hired out?
Our own, every time. Trevor puts a trained Redlegs crew on our own trucks, so nobody skims a broker cut, no day-labor turns up, and no stranger walks into your home.
When and how do I pay?
Payment comes after the job wraps, aside from the small refundable hold on your date. We take card, check, or cash, and you approve the final total right there before the truck departs.
Do you take a deposit?
Only a small refundable amount to hold your Redlegs crew and your date, nothing more. Everything else is due once the job is done, and the estimate is always free.
Do stairs or a piano get charged at the end?
No. A staircase, a steep Cincinnati hillside carry, a piano or a gun safe, all of it is in the figure before the first box moves, so the total never drifts from what you signed.
Can you move in Cincinnati winters and summers?
Every week of the year. In winter we salt the walkways and load quickly so nothing sits out in the cold; in the summer humidity we start early and keep pieces shaded. Your window holds whether it is a January freeze or a muggy July afternoon.
How do you handle Cincinnati traffic and the hills?
We plan around it. The drive is timed against I-71, I-75, and I-275, we steer around the Cut in the Hill at rush hour, and the window we gave you still holds.
Do you handle the steep hillside neighborhoods?
All the time. Mount Adams, Clifton, Mount Auburn, and the hilltop streets come with narrow switchbacks, long stair runs, and tight parking, and we plan the approach and the carry ahead so nothing holds up move day.
Do you move pianos and gun safes?
Yes, and the cost is already in your flat price. Those bulky, hard-to-handle pieces ride on the right board with proper straps and padding, moved by folks who have done plenty of them.
Can you handle downtown building COIs and move rules?
Yes. A good number of downtown and Over-the-Rhine buildings ask for a Certificate of Insurance and a reserved elevator or dock time. Send us the building rules and we handle the COI and book the window ahead.
Is storage available between homes?
Yes. They go into a clean, climate-kept unit, a week or most of a year, and the cost rides inside your written price rather than turning up as a bill down the road.
How much notice should I give?
A week or two out suits most moves, and the first of the month and month-ends go fastest. If a crew has an opening, we will still fit in a same-week or next-day move, so it never hurts to ring us.
What keeps the floors and walls from getting marked?
Runners go down over the floors, the doorways and banisters get padded, and the furniture is blanket-wrapped first, so both the old place and the new one finish without a scuff.
Which parts of Greater Cincinnati do you cover?
All of it, from downtown, Over-the-Rhine, and Hyde Park out through Oakley, Clifton, and Norwood, then on to Blue Ash, Mason, West Chester, and Loveland, plus long-distance moves across Ohio and beyond.
Ready for a written figure you can plan the whole Cincinnati move around?
Your written flat rate ships out of the Walnut Hills office, usually the same working day you ask.
